MUSIC ADVERT RESEARCH:
1.
What I noticed from this image was that both adverts had an obvious iconic image on it of the artist themself.
They are also in dark and gold colours which add a contrast and therefore make them easily accesible to the eye and make them stand out.
-Both adverts also include information about the new album/single in smaller writing at the bottom of the advert.
-The artists name is in bold, large writing on the advert in both to really stand out so it is obvious to the audience which artist the advert is about from first glance.
-When looking at this second advert it is slightly different from the top above as it is full length and more colourful. From previous research of Katy Perrys music I am aware that this advert corresponds almost identicaly to the music video which is the title of the album she is promoting. This gives me an insight that by making both the video, advert and music album cover similiar themed it gives an all over completed effect and audience like to be able to reconise a recurring theme. This is definately something that I will take onboard when creating my music advert.
- There is once again a full image of the artist and her name is shown in the largest font text that is on the entire advert.
-Different to the two posters above, this image shows that the album information is presented in a different way as there is an actual image of the album on the advert to the left hand side with writing around that. Showing an alternative way that I could take on board instead of using just text.
-The final advert I looked at is Lilly Allens music advert which was advertising the album 'It's not me It's you'.
-The difference in this album advert is that it is plain and uninformative like the rest of the adverts I've looked at. This to me suggests the difference in the artist herself compared to other artists, suggesting an almost 'rebellion' to the norm of the industry- creating up a character and personality of the artist. This to me gives me further knowledge of how I am to create my music advert by questioning the idea "how am I representing my artist and how do I want her to appear?". Fiesty and out of the ordinary like Lily Allen or more of a innocent artist like Ellie Goulding?
- Although slightly different from the other advert, this image shows that the reccurent theme of the large image of the artist at the fore front is obvious here too and the only writing on the whole advert is of the artists name- showing that this once again a key element of the advert.
IN CONCLUSION TO MY RESEARCH
-I have found out key elements about a music advert whilst researching through different artists the main ones which I will use in my project are:
-A dominant image of the artist
-Large writing of the artists name
-Smaller text about the formal information of the album
-An obvious colour scheme which correlates with the album cover
Other descions I have decided:
-I will create a landscape music album advert which will take up half of an A4 page in a magazine. Like the first advert I researched which is half of a n A4 page each however the images are created potrait.
-I will also play around with creating colour and black and white into my advert as whilst researching I liked both styles of the blacks and colour and therefore I want to experiment with both.
